Pretty In Pink Birthday

WOW!! Christmas is almost here.
Who's gettting excited? I am, but not as much as the kids.
My daughters were invited to an Ice Skating Party earlier this month and my 6 year old son was
fortunate to join in. It was his first ever time Ice Skating and he loved it. Dad says he was so
proud of him.
The Birthday Girl is turning 9 and here is her card.
Now I did say this was pink and actually the colours are Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White.
Just added some ribbon and bling to make it really girlie.
The background is the DSP Flirtatious and the doilie is from the same papers.
Well that's it from me until after Christmas.
Hope you all enjoy the festivities and stay safe.

A Cheery Get Well

 Hi there fellow readers.
I am posting a card I made a little while ago for someone who lives far, but never far away in our thoughts.
I do like to keep things bright if I can and using Concord Crush, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo
surely would live up to it's name.

I'm loving the Flirtatious DSP doilies as you may have noticed and introduced again in this card.
The Lattice embossing folder was used after stamping the doilies.
So I think this would cheer up anyones day if they were not well.
What do you think?

Ink: Concord Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo

Pennant Christmas

Happy Weekend everyone!!!
Time is flying by and before we know it Christmas will have been a gone.
What I am showing you today is a very easy card to make.
First of all with the Lucky Limeade ink onto the Lucky Limeade cardstock I used a stamp from Delightful Decorations and randomly stamped the card.
I used the Impressions "Stripes" folder on the Whisper White cardstock, tied it with Soft Suede dotted ribbon.(Retired).
From the Flirtatious DSP, I cut out a dolie and circle punched the centre.
Now if you have your new Mini Catti you will notice I have used the new Glimmer Paper in Silver #124005 $8.95.You get 2x 12x12 sheets. It also comes in Red. I absolutley love it and will notice with future posts.
If you haven't got a copy please email me and I'll send one out to you.(Australian Residents Only)
For the Christmas Trees I used the Pennant Parade stamp set and punched it out with the co ordinating punch Petite Pennants Builder.
To finish it off I stamped Merry Christmas from the Comtempo Christmas stamp set in Soft Suede and put it through the Big Shot using Lots Of Tags.
The tag was placed onto of another tag-Decorative Label.
And there you have it. I given a couple of these to special people in my life, so enjoy.
Until next time blog followers.

Christmas Birthday Party

Happy Monday to you.
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of doing a young ladies 11th birthday party.
I had been asked last year and as it was a hit then, I was really happy to be asked again.
The theme was to be Christmas and I took the opportunity to use something new
which you will see for yourself when the new Summer Catti goes live on Thurs 1st Dec.
So here is a sneak preview.

There is a new Die and Glitter Paper which comes in 12x12 sheets of two.
I love the combo of the Pool Party, Silver and Whisper White together, very non traditional Christmas colours. I used a Doilie from the Flirtatious DSP and threaded the matching Pool Party ribbon through it.
I then stuck silver glass glitter onto the edges and finshed it off with Rhinestone brad.
Well we all had lots of fun making our own to place treats inside.
Always a winner when you can make something yourself to reuse and place on the tree.
Thanks for stopping by.

This month, a relative of ours has a special birthday, as it falls on Poppy Day
and for that reason she was named Poppy.

I also used Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Lemonade, Concord Crush inks which are this years and
and last years In Colours. The " Happy Birthday" comes from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.
I do love these colours together and enjoyed making this card.
I hope you like seeing my creations and feel free to leave a comment.

Desk Calendar for 2012

Hello and long time no see from me.
Life has been hectic, as hubby had to have an op 4 weeks ago and I'm doing his
job for the  meantime, so no time for crafting.
I thought I'd show you something I created alittle while ago and ready to use next year.

I made this for my daughter and for that reason I made the owl into a girl also. See the little bow?
All I did was make a hollow box to slide the draw into and then stuck an Easel card on top.
The DSP is from the Retired Nursery Suite and the colour pallet is Rose Red and So Saffron.
As I have twin girls as soon as this was made I just had to make another one for her,
so when I can find a quick moment I will show you hers.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Special Windmill Thank You!!!

My son had his birthday last month and a special card had to be made.
To do something different I made a windmill with the new DSP Just Add Cake ,#124339, $18.95.
I included some chipboard On Board clouds and sponged them in Whisper White.
From the same papers I punched out his name.
I punched with the scalloped trim edge some grass also to make it look like someone is outside with their Windmill.
The colour pallet is So Saffron, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and Whisper White.
Needless to say he loved his card from mum and had a great day.
As he was spoilt by many we decided to make Thank You cards.
Using the retired Nursery Suite Speciality papers to help go with the fishy scene for our cards.
The colours are Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.
The card size were 4x4.
Well I hope you enjoyed today's post and your weekend was a great one.

Medallion Gift Box and Card

Hello to you.
At the moment some of us are having the delight of our children being on school holidays.
I think when they do go back we will need a holiday of our own (LOL).
This month is a busy month for birthdays, really it easy nearly every month.
Here is what I made for my step daughter who turned 23yrs old
and needed to send something special to the UK.
I decided to create a box and a card to match.

I used the Medallion background for the theme on the card and box and the colours are Very Vanilla,
Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede.
The box measures 4 1/8 x 4 1/8" and the depth is almost 2".
If you pop over to Chic n Scratch  you see will where I got my inspiration from.
Center of Medallion stamp cut out and placed in the middle of the box on top of scallop circles.
As you can see I finished it off with Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon and a pearl.

Here is a close up of the card center in coordinating colours.
I coloured the dots with the Cherry Cobbler marker and then dotted over them with Crystal Effects.
The Happy Birthday is from Well Scripted stamp set. I just love the font from this set.
Well that's all from me on the post.
Enjoy looking.

Birthday Ballons

Morning to you and what a glorious morning it is in West Sydney.
I am posting a card that was for alittle girl who had just turned 5 last month and as we don't see
her very often, we finally did last weekend and personally gave it to her.
I hadn't made a side step card for ages so I decided to have a go.
I had fun decorating this card because it was bright and I had an excuse to use the new stamp set
Up, Up & Away #125034(w), #122757(c) and Big Top Birthday DSP #122348.

The other new stamp set I used was Pennant Parade #125012 (w),#122742 (c) and what is exciting
with this stamp set is, it has a matching punch to go with it. We really love this time saving idea.
My colour pallet for this card was Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
and Whisper White.
A couple of the ballons have crystal effects on them to give that shiny look.
Well she loved the card and so do I and I hope you out there did too.
Let me know what you think I would love to hear from you.
Mant thanks

Punch Art Sunflower From Stamp Camp

Hi everyone and good day to you.
I am showing you a card I made a little while ago whilst I was at my teams Stamp Camp
and we had a challenge to present a card from Punch Art.
We have very talented ladies in our team that made some fantastic cards.
This is my effort. If it's not that obvious it is a Sunflower for a little girl.
I had included a couple of new things which were the new In Colour cardstock Calypso Carol
and Just Add Cake DSP from the new catalogue.
The beauty of a Punch Art card is that there is not stamping involved.
I hope you enjoyed today's post and until next time.

The colours are Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz.
Versamark was used for the bird and background.
Well that's all from me for now. Enjoy your weekend.

Sorry Your Gone

It's been awhile I know, but time can pass by so quick and already we are nearly at the end of this month.
The card I am showing you today is one I have not had to make too many of , but unfortunately this is one of those times.
My husbands cousin sadly passed alittle while ago and this is the card I made for her family.
My colour pallet was Basic Grey, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.
On the scalloped circle I used the Crop-a-Dile eyelet end to give that embossed look. The boarder was done with the Scallop Trim Boarder and Trim Corner punch. It does take practise, but it's well worth it to get this end result.
I hope you liked the post today and will be on here again soon.

All in a flutter!!!

Welcome readers,
Today you have caught me at last with a card to post for my dear sister in law, but how bad am I that this card still has not been sent. She is also bad for this, but it does niggle at you when someone should have the card you spent time making.
On previous posts I have mentioned that this cute stamp(All A Flutter) will retire, but I may keep it for it is fun to watercolour.
Speaking of colour, I used So Saffron and Peach Parfait on the butterfly and as I watercoloured it I also used my aquapainter with the Shimmer Mist. I popped the butterfly inside the Treat Cup and backed it with the Botanical Gazette DSP(also retiring). On the Crumb Cake cardstock I just used the same stamp with Versamark for a background.
So I think I better get this sent or else I'll be kicking myself if I don't.What do you think?
Well until next time.

Say Goodbye

Hello readers.
Today I wanted to post a card that sadly the stamp used will be retiring at the end of this month.
That's right it is All A Flutter. I love this stamp as it turns out different each time use use it. I will show another card I made which is totally different way of using this stamp. So look out for that.
This main colours today is So Saffron and Peach Parfait. These are the watercolours I used on the butterfly as well as DSP.

I used watered down Champayne Mist Shimmer paint to give that subtle glimmer on the butterfly.
Sorry but the tiny brads are mine and thought they matched the card perfectly.
Hope you enjoyed looking today.
Until next time enjoy.

BFF's Birthday

Hello and good day to you.
Time has flown by since my best friend and I sat down and made birthday invitations for her big 30th
birthday and here I am again making something special for her again this year.
Her birthday was a couple of weeks ago and then shortly after it was her husbands birthday too, so I
waited until that came round before sending their cards together.
For my friend Leisa this is what I made.

My colour pallet was a bit different to what I usually go with. I chose Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Pear Pizazz.
The box idea was from my lovely team mate Kerry Bunting of course and co ordinated with the birthday card. In the box I placed a box of brads, they fit perfectly.
Now for the male card.
I was really please how this card turned out. I wanted to give the card a subtle shimmer look. I did this
with a watercolour brush and shimmer paint and the colour of the shimmer paint I used was Champagne. It gives it a great shadow effect and not too much with the shimmer to still look masculine.
My colour pallet for this card was Marina Mist, More Mustard and Basic Grey.
I used Watercolour paper for the stamped image and Staz On in black.
I hope you enjoyed this post today.
Hope to be posting soon.

Hurry Time Is Running Out

Hello to you all out there on this fine sunny day(At last).
Sydney had some shocking weather last week and finally we get the pleasure of some raize.
Do you know what else is shocking? The time has past so fast and the current promotion is coming to a close.
That's right, now until the 31st of July is your last chance to get FREE ribbon and buttons if you spend $100 or more on an order from me. Just email me at mmarchant71@yahoo.com.au with your order and I'll make sure you will get your freebies.
I have a card for you today.
This weekend my son is invited to a party and he instructed me that I must make his friend (who is turning 6)
a card with the Motorcycle stamp.
So he chose the colours which are Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Staz On Black.
He wanted it to look like your looking out of a window looking at your new motorbike.
In that case I framed the motorbike to make it a window and a curtain pelmet  on top.
You cannot see the I watercoloured shimmer paint over certain areas of the bike, but it's there.
He has given the thumps up and I do hope the birthday boy will like it too.
Well until next time, have a great day.

The colour of the day......

Well hello finally.
I've been out of action as over here in NSW we are just coming to the end of our school holidays.
I took up the offer to visit my mum and step-dad in Queensland for a week with my kids.
Whilst away I did manage to do some crafting with mum, as she is more into Scrapbooking, so I gave her a hand. It was lovely to see them as well as my Grandparents. They are getting on now and they loved seeing their Great Grandchildren also.
Before we went on our holiday's I managed to make a birthday card for my sister in law.

White was the colour theme plus embossing and punches. You may also notice that not one stamp is in sight.
This is a good way to get the most out of your Big Shot.
Just a quick one for you all today, so until next time.

Happy Anniversary To Me!!!

Good day to you out there in blog world.
As you read this I will be on my holidays with the kids for a week.
As the title says, it was my 13th wedding anniversary last Friday and of course I just had to make a card
for the occassion.
My inspiration came from Jenny Moore for the design of the card.
I really love the colour combo of Real Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.
I used the Aviary, For A Friend stamps and Well Scripted.
The DSP is retired but goes well with the colours I've used.
I am so happy I've learnt how to tie a bow and will have to show you all in a class one day.
Well I hope you all have a nice week.
When I return I will be getting together some Christmas card class. I know it's not what you want to think
about right now but if you do it bit by bit, it's not such a rush when Christmas is finally here.
Glad you could stop by.

A Name Starting With V

Good Sunday to you!!!

The temperture dropped here today, so it was bitterly cold.I hope it was warmer where you are.
Earlier this month my little Niece turned 2 yrs old and apart from making cards I sometimes
decorate wooden lettering. I have never met her as she lives in Brazil, so they are on their way to her now.

The card.

and now the Letter V for Vanessa.
Mainly SU items, but some are not. This can be hung on the wall or stood on a shelf.
The main colour theme if you haven't guessed is Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.
On the birthday card I made the sweets by punching a 3/4" circle and 2 punched hearts, that all.
The stamped image on them is from Delightful Decoration stamp set.
The bow on the letter V is a tutorial Teneale Williams did from this years convention. It is a Satin double bow and I was so chuffed I did it and thought it looked very pretty for a little girl.
Well that's all for now.
I'm glad you stopped by to have a look and would love to know what you think.

Penguin Birthday

Hello to you out there.
The last couple of days have been very wet in Sydney and colds and flu have been non stop in our house.
I have managed to get some craft done and following on from my last post my son went
to a party of a firend from his pre-school. They unfortuately they don't go to school together, but it was a
nice catch up for them both.
He took this card for his friend.
images © 1990-2011 Stampin' Up!®

Using the 2 Step Owl Punch was how this little guy was made and my inspiration came from Teneale Williams as she made this some time ago. My children kept asking me why has he got a hose in his mouth?
It's not a hose it is a party blower just to clear that up if you all thought the same.
So I hope it was liked by the birthday boy.
Well thanks for stopping by. I will be posting up coming classes, so stay tuned.

All of a flutter

Happy Monday!!!
It was a long weekend here and it is just coming to an end.
It has been poor weather for adventuring out big great for staying indoors and catching up on those things
you have longed to do, but never get round to it. (Are you all saying YES)?
Well I had a go at trying to reorganise my craft room.I did manage to make some difference and it's still
work in progress, but more about that another time.
So this time I made a simple card for the birthday girl and I think butterflies are always a winner with girls.
The colours are Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.
Framed Tulips (in the new Autumn/Winter Mini) is the embossed frame around the card place onto Whisper White card stock. The gems I used are non SU.
The stamps are from Butterfly Prints and On a Pedestal.
Thanks for stopping and taking a look.
Until the next time ....

Late Mother's Day

Hi to everyone out there.
I hope it hasn't been too cold for you where ever you are.(or too hot)
Now I know Mother's Day was last month, but I made this card  along time ago and I had forgotten about it. Now that doesn't mean my dear mum didn't get one, this is just an extra one I made.
I used the Big shot for the embossing and the die cutting.

images © 1990-2011 Stampin' Up!®
For this card the colours I used were Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and White Confetti.
The strips of DSP are from the Patterns Pack Bold Brights and Cottage Wall - (Retired).
I used the curved slot punch either side of the top note to thread through the Old Olive silk ribbon,
as that punch is no longer available you can use a craft knife to place slits each side.
You may not see that I have used Champagne Mist around the butterflies and I daubed on the edges
of each of them.
A better look is by enlarging the photo.
Well I hope you enjoyed looking and please come back soon.Let me know what you think.

Princess Scrapbook Page

Good Morning to you all.
I wanted to share something that I haven't done in such a long time.
I used to be really into Scrap booking before I joined Stampin' Up! and now it's not something I do so much
anymore. It was great to do it again and I find the subject of my children so easy to do.
The whole idea of what I wanted on the page didn't come easy, so it did take a bit of time.
Here's the finished product.

My favorite part of this page is the circle.
I used the Eyelet Boarder punch.Cut 2 strips of DSP 12x12 and folded small amounts all the way
round. I then just stuck it down using snail.Placing it on the page was with dimensionals.
The flowers I cut out are from the Bliss Stamp Set.
My colour pallet was mainly So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Certainly celery and Very Vanilla.
I hope you enjoyed today's post as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Motorbike Male Card

Welcome!
Today I would like to present to you a card that I hardly ever do and that is a Male card.
This one has been sent to my dad who just turned 63 last month and was excited to use the Motorbike stamp which hadn't seen daylight until know.
I have also made another card for another special man in my life
which is my husband. I'll show you that a little later in the month.

My colours are Sahara Sand, Real Red, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.
Square Lattice Embossing folder was used for the background on DSP.
The sentiment was used from the Happy Moments stamp set.
The motorbike was stamped in Staz On Black to allow for colouring.
Well that is all from me today. I have a poorly 5 year old at home and I better give him my attention.
Until next time.

More Birthday's With A Box

Hello to a very wet day in Sydney.
I said this month is busy for birthdays and here is another card and box to show you.
Now I'll warn you it is bright.
See I told you it's bright.
Now this card is special to me. Apart from the person it went to I learned how to do a bow from a very clever and talented Teneale Williams. It is from her Workshop Wow card 1 from convention and I just had to have a go. I had always been curious how she does those bows so perfect and now we know why.
The colours used for this two items are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie.
Top Note Die for the big shot and scored across 3/4 of the way up and fold and their is your purse.
A button is placed in the center of our purse and there you have it. So simple.
Well I hope my post brightened up your day especially if it is miserable outside.
Not looking forward to the school pick up run to get soaking wet again :(
Till next time.

Birthday Purse

Howdy fellow readers.
If you read my last post I mentioned this month is a busy month for birthdays and parties.
I love the new DSP Sweet Stitches from the new Autumn - Winter Mini 121781 $16.95 and decided as the
card is for a little girl I would used it here.
It's loud I know, but I think it's what kids love.
From the Big shot I used the  Top Note Die. I cut 2 pieces stuck them together and scored 3/4's of the way up to fold over. Now you have your purse.
I embellished it with an Eyelet to disguise as a button.
The card stock buttons are embosslits also from the Autumn - Winter Mini 121813 $21.95  aren't they cute?
Hope you enjoyed the post.
See you soon

Busy month for Birthdays

Good day to you all.

Not such a nice day out there, so stay indoors and keep warm.
I've had a few cards to make this month as their is a few birthdays going round and funny enough they are
all female.
The card I'm going to show you is a copy of a card we made at our team meeting a little while ago. Very very simple to make and yet cute.
It's like a shadow box because we used deminsionals to give it that 3d look.
The cupcake I stamped is from Got Treats and in fact I coloured it with SU's markers Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait.
For the Happy Birthday I used versa mark. Not that this photo shows it so well but I did stamp flowers on the Blushing Bride cardstock from Good Egg. If you click on the photo itself you can see it better.
So like I said a nice simple to do.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be posting again soon.

It's been awhile.

Hello to you all out there.
As the title says it's been awhile.
Where do I begin, well I'll try and make it short.
Hubby went to the UK and came back with pains in the tum, so off to the hospital he went.
He stayed for a few days and whilst this was happening I was doing his job.
Just thinking soon he will be returning to work when he took himself back into hospital because he was in extreme pain and he had done more damage.
So still working. This time he was in hospital alsmost a week.
Again he is signed off and now for a month.
It has been at times extremely hard and it has been a complete role reversal for me and my husband.
On a happier note, it's our daughters 9th birthday today and pre-celebrated over the Mother's Day weekend. It's a very special time because I share my day with them.
Here's a card I made to share.

What's different about this card is I did a spin circle and placed it in the center of the punched flower.
Our team made something like this at Stamp Camp from a shoebox swap.
From the same flower punch is how I made the love hearts.
The colour combo is Concord Crush,Old Olive and Whisper White.
Thank you all for stopping by.

Hello Easter

Easter is fast approaching and I thought that this year I would have a go and make an Easter card.
My inspiration for this card came from Jenny and I made a Twisted Easel Card just for a change. I had never made one of these before and like the result.

Sorry about the quility of the photo but it seemed better when I first uploaded it.
I used the Good Egg stamp set as well as Well Scripted.
DSP is Nursey Suite which is so cute and the Hostess In Color 6x6 papers.
My colour pallett is So Saffron,Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look.
