Christmas Card Time

Well this month is just flying by and you would think I haven't done one Christmas Card.
Wrong!!!I have made loads, but haven't had the chance to show you.
I have two downlines and of course made a card each for them.
Out comes the Holly Jolly DSP as it's the best Christmas colours, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.
Now for the second card.I did get my inspiration from Becky Roberts for this one.

It's a different way of using the On A Pedestal stamp set and that's why I thought I would have a go myself. What do you think?
So much still to do in preparation for Christmas, so off to it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Time For A Party

Hi all,
Well this weekend I have been busy doing a party for a dear friends daughter and also attending a 5 yr olds party.
It was my first childs party and I think it was a great hit.
Mum of DD10 and I decided that we will get the girls to make their own treat boxes and fill them up with
lovely sweets.
Of course I made a sample first and this is how it turned out.

Bold Brights is the colour theme which I thought is great for a kids party.

I had just purchased the Fancy Favour Die Cut which is really easy to use.( Especially if you have the Big Shot Ha Ha). It takes no time at all, so easy for a party. I included the Bold Brights DSP to mix and match with the Butterflies, Markers and Ribbon.
The birthday card I made for her was nice and bright too.The DSP is non SU , but thought it went so well with our new In Colour Concord Crush.

I hope you like my items for you to see today. I was also ask to make a couple of wall hangings as a present from her Mum & Dad. For some reason I totally forgot to take photo's. I will get the photo's at a later date and post them on my blog.
Supplies:
Ink:Concord Crush,Old Olive,Chocolate Chip, & Real Red
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Real Red, Delightful Daffodil, Garden Green & Whisper White
DSP: Non SU and Bold Brights
Other: Fancy Favour Die Cut, Circles #2 Die, Scalloped Edge Punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die,
Big Shot, Silver Brad, Concord Crush  & Pumpkin Pie Ribbon, Rich Razzleberry Button.

Cottage Garden Birthday

Hi ya
I had to make a card for an Auntie in England who's name is Poppy and her birthday is on Poppy Day.
She is a garden fantic and I decided to use Cottage Garden for her birthday card.
I used Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Concord Crush for the colour combo and Cottage Wall DSP.

Unfortunately, SU doesn't sell the Cottage Garden DSP anymore. It is now Sunny Garden, so check that out in the new 2010-2011 Ideas and Catalogue.
I'm getting used to the new In colour Concord Crush and took this opportunity to use it.
Just a quickie today.
Thanks for coming by.
Till next time.

It's Party Time Invitations

Hello to you all.
My dear friend asked my to do her daughters Birthday Party for her later this month.
Of course I said yes, but you can't have a party without invitations.
So I came across Karen Thomas' post for invitations and thought this is such a different way to construction
one. You have to get more creative as kids get older.
This is my take on it.
I rolled the invite to fit inside the milk carton and stuck half Velcro dots onto the ribbon to fasten it.
The card stock goes well I thought with the DSP. Sorry this is not SU.
The colour theme is Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.
Mum collected them today and says she will be over the moon.
Now to organise the yummy treat boxes they will be making.

Supplies
Stamp Sets: Party This way, Got Treats
Cardstock: Blushing Bride,Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White
Ink: Blushing Bride,Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait & Pear Pizzazz
Other:Mini Milk Carton Die, Big Shot, In colour ribbon, Scalloped Trim Edge Punch, mini clips.

Thanks for stopping by.

Where Has The Time Gone?

Hello fellow blog viewers.
I have been out of action I know and for good reason.
My 5 yr old son ended up hopsital after picking up Rota Virus. It was a very stressful time and not one to be repeated. We stayed in the Childrens Hospital for 5 days and was so glad to take him home. To look at him now you wouldn't know he was so unwell which is great.
He was so upset that he missed out on Trick o Treating.
His sisters managed to go for him and this is what they looked like.

When we came back it was fast approaching a dear friend of mine's 40th birthday, so I sat down and made up this card for her.
I used for the first time Embosslits-Beautiful Wings. They are so cute aren't they?
My colour pallett is Blushing Bride and Basic Grey.
The stamp set is Party This Way.
Now I'd better get it sent off.
Thanks for catching up.

Party Time

Happy Monday to you.
Yesterday my son went to a neighbours 5th Birthday Party, so like always I made a card.
It was the first opportunity to use the new stamp set Party This Way. I used colours from the Brights Collection, as kids love bright colours.

The party was great fun. I had a laugh when the Pinata couldn't break open, so a hammer was taken to it (a Dad did this). In the end the sweets went flying everywhere and we all were hit with them.
A kids party isn't a party without some casualities.LOL
A fun time had by all.

Supplies
Stamp Set: Party This Way
Ink: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Delightful Daffodil
Card Stock:Delightful Daffodil, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise,Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White
Other: Versa Mark, Scalloped Edge Punch, Circle Sizzix Die Cut, 1 3/4"punch, Embossing Dots.

Halloween Is Coming!!!!

Hi to all of you.
I wanted to share a Hostess gift that I made for the Workshop last weekend.
I had so much fun making this and as I do love Halloween it was a great treat for me to do it.
I got to use my new Mini Milk Carton Big Shot Die Cut for treat boxes.
Now I can't put my finger on who's blog I saw the little characters for decorating the cartons, so I can't take the credit as original ideas. They are very easy to do and of course this is helped with the 2 step owl punch.

Next photo

How cute are they?
I used the Got Treats Stamp set which is really cute also. I used a tutorial from Stamping My Life Away to
make the milk carton caddy which I did previously for my Christmas item.
Now why don't you have a go.
Thanks for dropping by.
Until next time.

Mum's Birthday

Hi all.
Yesterday it was my mother's 60th birthday and as she lives in Queenslands I unfortunately
could not be there to help celebrate.Nevertheless, she really enjoyed her day and here
is the card I sent her.

I just love the colours of the new Sweet & Sour Speciality paper. They are Very Vanilla, Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie.
The idea came from the cover of The Idea and Catalogue with using the Die Cut Top Note.
The flower is cut from the circle scallop punch and folded like a fan. I punch 2 scallops to
make this one and placed an antique brad in the middle.
I should think she will like it.

Supplies:
Stamps sets: A Word For You
Cardstock:Very Vanilla
DSP:Sweet and Sour Speciality Paper
Ink: Rose Red
Other:Circle Scallop Punch, Top Note Die Cut, Big Shot, Pumpkin Pie Ribbon & Antique Brad.

Thanks for stopping by.

Up Coming Workshop for Calendars

Hello there folks,

Hope you are enjoying the Spring School Holidays for those out there with kids at home.
Time I must say goes really fast and that is a great intro for the project that I will be showing you.
My dear friend who has finally agreed on being a Hostess for a change. She always came to card nights
and now it's her turn to earn some free gifts.
My team managed to get a hold of these mini calendars to buy in bulk and as a Christmas gift for teachers, friends or family it's easy to do.
I used watercolour paper for the watercolouring and used mainly the new In Colours.

Second Version

As you can see I made an Easel Card for easy posting and to pop onto a desk and it doesn't take up much room.
I followed a tutorial from Dawn Olchefske which she made a really cute Easel Calendar card. Check it out.
I love the way these turned out and hope my ladies will to.

Take care and thanks for looking.

I know you haven't heard from me lately, but that's what happens when it School Holidays.
Not so long ago I made this card for a friend of my son's for a Birthday Party.

Of course I just had to use the cute treat cups for this effect and used Pocket Silhouettes stamps to give that seaweed look.

Stamp Sets:Something Sweet, Pocket Silhouettes, and Whimsical Words.
Cardstock:Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango & Whisper White
Ink:Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizzazz
Other: Treat Cup, Scallop Edge Punch, Ribbon (non SU)

Elegant Thank You

My son the other week at his Kindy had a bit of a job allowing his picture to be taken, so the child care Director finally got him to agree to having his picture taken in the end and it was not an easy job.
I just needed an excuse to use the new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder to make a Thank you card.
I have also used the new flower punch.
The colour pallet is Rose Red, Pretty In Pink and Very Vanilla.
Enjoy.

Jolly Holiday Christmas Card

Hello all It's been a very busy week as always, but I wanted to let you see this card before it's long
forgotten.
As you have probably noticed new items are poppin' up everywhere from Stampin Up and
showing you new things is always fun.
This card is made using the new DSP Jolly Holiday and Contempo Christmas Stamp Set.
The new colour is Cherry Cobbler which seems to be a favourite (it is mine).
I have seen this card elsewhere in my travels, but it has escaped me from where, so no create for me.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your up coming Christmas card making.
That is all for now. Until next time.

Punch Art Again

Well I have been busy with birthdays lately and still going. Last weekend it was my sons turn and we celebrated over the whole weekend.
It happens that his friend from pre-school had his party on the same day as Aaron. Thankfully the 2 venues were right next to each other,so we didn't have far to go.
The card that I made for his friend is something that has become very popular with the new Ornament Punch and great to be able to turn it into something else like fish.
And here it is.

The person that most impressed me with her idea with this card was Kerry Bunting. I thought I just have to case it and see what I come up with.

Supplies I Used:
Stamp sets: Pocket Siliouette, Something Sweet & Delightful Decoration.
Cardstock :Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive
Other: L Ornament punch, scalloped oval punch. oval punch, scalloped edge punch, small heart punch, hand punch and Black marker.

So grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy!

I would just like to say this is my first attempt at joining in a BLOG HOP,so I hope I did o.k and I had fun creating for you.
My first creation came from a new stamp set we were given to come up with an idea for the recent Stamp Camp for our team.
We did a shoe box swap and I was given the Look Who's Turning .....with young children in mind. You can find this set on pg 50 of our new catalogue and it was really fun card to make.

As you can see I stamped the animals then cut them out by hand.I did the same with the party hats and randomly placed them on the card as well as giving each animal a party hat. With this stamp set you have a row of numbers so you can be specific as to the age the child or grown up who is to be having a birthday. So as I have a son turning 5 next month I thought ahead. You can't see it, but I used plastic sheeting over the number and punched it out with a 1" punch circle. I also used Versa Mark for the background.
Supplies used:
Stamp Set:Look Who's Turning
Cardstock:Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White
Ink:Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Old Olive
Other:Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch,1" Punch, Plastic Sheeting Dimensionals & Versa Mark

Next up is something new for me in more ways then one.
Along time ago I purchased a template from Becky Roberts which is called a Valentines Box. I never had a chance to use it until now and because I wanted to use the lovely DSP Greenhose Gala for this I thought I would have a go. What do you think?

To add to the box I also used the new co-ordinating stamp set called Friends Never Fade which you can find on pg 71 of the new catalogue. On the front of my box I made 2 paper flowers which were so easy.
For each flower you just punch out 5 scalloped circles. Pierce a hole through each, then dampen them with water and scrunch them.Once they are dry put through a brad and unfold them to the desired shape. With alittle bit of 2 way glue stick I just went around the edges and dunked them into dazzling diamonds.
The tag was a stamped image from the Friends Never Fade in Baja Breeze and placed onto a Chocolate Chip punched scalloped circle. I then tied on a button and that was tied to the Real Red Grosgrain ribbon.

Now for the inside.

The contents of inside are 4 cards which are 4x4" in size all with the Greenhouse Gala DSP.
A sweetie or mouth mint box.
A miniture chocolate box.

1. Front left.
Corner punch was used on the Real Red cardstock. Not that you can see so well, but Versa Mark on the backgound.Brass eyelet place in the centre of the scalloped circle and I tied a bow in the middle and stuck on punched out hearts.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set:Friends Never Fade
Cardstock: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White
DSP: Greenhouse Gala
Other: 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon,Brass Eyelet, Heart Small Punch & Dimensionals

2. Back left.
First of all this wasn't easy for me to make a weave card, but I am happy with the end results.
The strips I cut 8 into 1" x 3 3/8th" and stuck down the edges with Sticky Strip to stop it from lifting.
I punched out an oval circle which I then folded over onto the edge of the card with piercing a Build A Brad through it with the matching DSP. I have stamped a butterfly from the Stamp set Great Friends pg 84.
I copied the image onto the plastic sheeting and let it dry. Cut this by hand and placed alittle bit of snail to keep them together.
I did the same effect to the tag hanging off the butterfly and thread through twine.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Great Friends
Cardstock: Baja Breeze & Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze
DSP: Greenhouse Gala
Other: Build a Brad, Plastic Sheet, Twine and Crop-a-dile
3. Back right.
This one I think is my most favorite.
The colours are very vibrant with Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I added Chocolate Chip Taffata Ribbon and ink and Versa Mark on the background.
On the inside I stamped the flower in Pumpkin Pie and cut this out and stamped it again in chocolate chip and cut out the centre and stuck it on with a dimensional.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Friends Never Fade and Great Friends
Cardstock:Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie
DSP:Greenhouse Gala
Ink:Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie
Other:Choc Chip Taffata Ribbon, crop-a-dile & dimensional
4. Front right.
Again sticking to the Greenhouse Gala DSP I went for a simple look and cut a 2.5"x2.5" square piece of DSP to be placed high on the card and matted it onto Baja Breeze card stock. Punched a hole for the ribbon and introduced  a saying from Cheep Talk whicj I'm happy to say is staying in the new catalogue.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets:Cheep Talk & Friends Never Fade
Cardstock: Baja Breeze & Whisper White
DSP:Greenhouse Gala
Ink:Chocolate Chip & Baja Breeze
Other:Chocolate Chip Taffata Ribbon, Crop-a-dile

To finish off my samples I have one more card for you and to match the box I made.
With this card I again stamped the image twice in two different colours and cut the flower to place it over the orginal. I cheated with the bow. You fold two loops and tie them with the twine. Get a button and tie the twine through it and tie. I then put a dimensional at the back to secure it on.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Friends Never Fade
Cardstock: Real Red, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Whisper White
DSP:Greenhouse Gala
Ink: Real Red & Chocolate Chip
Other: Real Red Button, Choc Chip Ribbon, Twine, Dimensional & scalloped edge punch.

Punch Art Card

Hi there and good day to you all.
I am giving you just a quick post, as I'm about to show 28 Girl Guides how to make this card.
I got my inspiration from Mary Fish when she made a card with circle punches and thought it would be easy to do for a class for craft. Of course all the prep work is done for them, they just have to stick altogether.

I followed Mary's tip for making the leaf using a circle punch to get your circle and then place the circle back into the punch half way and cut again and there you have your leaf. Very easy!!!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Best Yet
Ink:Old Olive
Paper:Old Olive textured,So Saffron,Pink Pirouette, Pink Passion(Retiring)
Other:Pink button,1 3/4 circle punch,1 1/4 punch, 1 Punch, Dimensions, Scalloped Oval and Lge Oval Punch.

Thanks for checking this post out.

Turning 30!!!

Hi to you all.
Now I wish it was me turning 30, but sad to say I'm not. My dear old neighbour just turned 30 this week and will be having a do this weekend to celebrate. Boy it's come round quick and looking forward to celebrating with her. I was lucky enough that she came over today to have a visit with her kids and mine so I could give her this card.

images © 1990-2010 Stampin' Up!®
In my last post I mentioned that at present I am on a mission to use up my collection of old scrapbooking papers and I have done the same in this occassion. I don't remember where it is from but I love the colour match with Taken with Tea (retiring). This is my friends favorite colour combo and it is tied in with Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel(Retriring).
I glittered the chipboard numbers with Alison Ellis glitter and placed them onto the Top Note card die cut from SU.
I got a WOW when she saw it which I was delighted with.
Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time.

Flutter By Butterfly

Hello,
Yes it has been awhile and this is mainly due to school holidays and preparations for the Stamp Camp my team are having and I can't wait.
I thought I would post a few cards I've made with a combo of Stampin'Up! items and others that I used to mainly go with the colours I've used. I used to be a mad Scrapbooker and still have loads of things sitting on shelves not getting used. I find it hard to be mad keen on both cards and scrapbooking and for now it's cards.
So for today I will show you a card I made for a dear friend of mines daughter. A couple of months ago I made this and used the Butterfly Prints SU Stamp set and Hello Again.
The scrapbooking paper is not SU and I tore it to give it that look.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets:
Butterfly Prints, Hello Again & Pony Party
Cardstock:Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Whisper White
Paper:Yellow Little Bicycle (non SU)
Ink:Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo,Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue
Other:Rhinestone brad (non SU)

I hope you enjoyed looking and will pop back soon.
